Isle of Palms tends to be a popular vacation spot, and for very good reason. This small island is packed with luxurious hotels and delicious restaurants, as well as some of the most pristine beaches around Charleston SC. You’ll find picturesque white sand and crystal-clear water. Wooden piers stand over the sea, creating the most quintessential South Carolina sunset view. The area tends to be a popular spot for kayaking, fishing, and surfing. Following the pictures, you can head to the downtown area, where you’ll find ice cream shops, kid-friendly restaurants, and cocktail bars. The traditional businesses and white picket fences also double as another magnificent background for some pics. 

Sullivan’s Island Beach

Sullivan’s Island Beaches gives you views similar to the Isle of Palms but with fewer Charleston SC crowds. This nearby destination rests right near the Isle of Palms at the end of Mount Pleasant. Like its neighbor, the area offers rental homes, restaurants, and sprawling beaches. The waters tend to be a preferred spot for sailing, kayaking, fishing, and kiteboarding. There are piers standing over marshes, as well as sandy beaches with rolling waves.

One of the biggest draws of Sullivan’s Island Beach is the towering lighthouse. While you can definitely exclude the building if you prefer, having it in the background lets you tie in some of the more iconic elements of South Carolina that make this state so wonderful. 

Folly Beach

Folly Beach is one of the Charleston SC beaches known as the Edge of America. This area really has a little bit of everything. You’ll find people surfing as others keeping a lookout for dolphins. There’s fantastic sailing, premium fishing, and, of course, some really delicious seafood. The beach rolls on for over 6 miles, meaning you’re going to be able to find a spot to take pictures without having to worry about crowds.

Folly Beach has huge piers, clear waters, and white sand. The Morris Lighthouse towers over the area with its trademarked orange and white striping. Once your pictures wrap up, you can find some dinner on the island and see if you can catch some live music.
