MEET TARA

Pregnancy is truly the most highly intensive sport around. Your body is constantly transforming while also training for delivery day. And as a result, you feel it! Your feet are swollen, your back aches, and you haven’t felt comfortable in your own bed in literal months. For years, athletes have used yoga as a supplemental exercise, whether they’re building joint strength on rest days or rehabbing an injury from training. Throughout pregnancy, incorporating prenatal yoga in Charleston SC will similarly increase your strength and flexibility while also preparing your body for the hard work of labor.

Plus, it will let you connect with other expecting parents in the area. If you’ve been considering adding yoga to your routine, I would love to highlight two studios with prenatal yoga in Charleston SC.

Holy Cow Yoga

10 Windermere Blvd, Charleston, South Carolina 29407

Holy Cow Yoga is a cozy studio that has received recognition from the Charleston City Paper as being the best yoga studio in the city. Every detail of this space has been carefully designed to invite relaxation, from the calming paint color to the soft cork floors. Holy Cow Yoga has a few rules to ensure everyone can enjoy their yoga experience. They ask that you skip strong perfumes and oils before you come in and that you arrive early so you’re not interrupting classes. While they prefer that you bring your own mat, they do have some available for rent if needed.

They offer prenatal yoga once a week in the evenings. During this time, you will be led through a gentle practice that has been carefully designed for your unique needs. These classes incorporate breathing techniques and will encourage you to trust your body’s intuition. This class is beginner-friendly.

The instructors will work alongside you to make sure you’re getting the very most out of each session.

The studio offers prenatal classes called Yoga Mama. The sessions last for 8 weeks and work with you to embrace all the magical changes that are happening within your body. Following your baby’s delivery, you can stop back in for their postpartum core restoration courses.
